Motorcyclist, 20, ID'd In Fatal Central Jersey Shopping Center Crash

Authorities have released the name of the 20-year-old motorcyclist who died of injuries from a crash at a Central Jersey shopping center.

Jonathan T. Giorgi of Howell was killed in the collision Saturday night on an access road at Howell Commons Shopping Plaza, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said on Monday.

A 2018 Honda Clarity was pulling out from an exit behind Panera Bread at 8:20 p.m. when it collided with Giorgi's 2020 Honda Grom motorcycle, the Prosecutor’s Office said in a press statement.

Giorgi was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained life-threatening injuries, authorities said. While being taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Giorgi was pronounced dead at 9:40 p.m., the prosecutor’s office said.

The driver of the Honda was not injured.

The incident was being investigated by the Monmouth County Serious Crash Analysis Response Team and the Howell Police Department.
